Walk. Reflect. Reconnect.
Explore the Trails at Teter
Over three miles of scenic trails wind through woodlands, riverbanks, and open fields at Teter Retreat & Organic Farm.
Trails, Woods & Riverways
3+ Miles Along the White River
Stretch your legs, and clear your head on over three miles of trails along the White River, open to the public during daylight hours.
Expect that “ahhh” feeling: riverside views, shaded woodlands, edge habitats buzzing with wildlife, and the kind of quiet you only get a few steps off the road. Teter spans nearly 120 acres of working organic farmland, woodland, and conservation ground, so every visit feels a little different depending on the season, the river, and what’s in bloom.
Bring your camera, your curiosity, and comfortable shoes. This is the kind of place where a “quick walk” becomes your favorite hour of the week.
A Trail With Roots: Conservation & Teter History
These trails are more than scenic pathways, they’re part of a story.
One featured 1-mile loop travels through land once enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), long protected for ecological restoration. This preserved parcel reflects decades of intentional land stewardship you can literally walk through.
The property itself was bequeathed by Ruth Teter in 1981 to serve as a retreat and memorial to the A.W. Teter family. Over time, it has evolved into today’s retreat-and-organic-farm mission. A place rooted in care for both people and the land.
As you wander the woods and field edges, you’re walking through history shaped by the simple principle: leave it better than you found it.
